ABOUT CHRIS POVEY

I grew up in Tresillian, near Truro, where my love for classical music began. I started playing the piano at the age of eight, and living directly opposite Nigel Bland Pianos only deepened that passion. Each day after school, I would step off the bus and head straight into the showroom, spending hours playing every instrument I could.
Among them was one piano I never forgot—a beautiful Reid Sohn baby grand. I was completely captivated by it. Then one afternoon, as Christmas approached, I walked in to find a sold sign resting on it. I was heartbroken, knowing someone else would soon take home the piano I had fallen in love with.
On Christmas Day, after opening my presents, my parents asked me to go into the dining room. What I saw is something I will never forget—they had transformed the space into a music room, with that very same grand piano standing proudly in the centre. It was an extraordinary moment, and one that shaped my life. I felt incredibly grateful that my parents believed in me enough to invest so much in my passion.
That experience stayed with me. It’s the reason I do what I do today. Through piano removals, I hope to play a small part in creating those same unforgettable moments for others—helping bring beautiful instruments safely into homes where they will be loved and played for years to come.

PIANO REMOVALS

On arrival, we carefully assess the property, walking the full route and exploring all options to ensure the safest and quickest approach. From start to finish, we take every precaution to protect both your piano and your home, giving you complete peace of mind.
PIANO RECYCLING
We treat every piano with the same care and respect, even when it has reached the end of its life. We understand that your instrument may have been part of your family for years—sometimes generations—holding memories that make it far more than just a piece of furniture.
Wherever possible, we give each piano a second chance. Instruments are carefully inspected, cleaned, repaired, and tuned if feasible, with the aim of placing them into the hands of another musician who can love and enjoy them just as you did. If a piano is beyond restoration, we ensure it is handled responsibly—salvaging reusable parts and recycling the remaining materials in an environmentally conscious way.
Our goal is to honour your piano’s history while giving it the most respectful and sustainable next step.
PIANO DONATION
We believe pianos are meant to be heard, shared, and enjoyed by everyone—not left silent. That’s why we’re passionate about giving instruments a new life in public spaces, where they can bring joy to communities every day.
Through our donation service, we provide pianos free of charge to local venues such as hospitals, hospices, train stations, and markets. Each piano is carefully selected, prepared, and delivered by our team, ready for the public to play and enjoy.
